Admission

Eligible Backgrounds

The program is open to graduates holding a Bachelor's degree from a university, teacher training college, or university of applied sciences in:

Psychology, Informatics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Systems, Human Medicine, Sports Science, Business Administration, Communication and Media Sciences, Communication Systems, Geography, and Environmental Sciences.

Applicants with a BSc from a foreign institution or a related but different field may be considered on an individual basis by the Faculty of Science and Medicine.

Required Documents
  • Bachelor's degree diploma (original or certified copy)
  • Transcript of records
  • Description of Bachelor's studies (for applicants from outside UniFR)
  • Motivation letter
  • One or two letters of recommendation from an academic professional
Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated on:

  • Academic performance during previous studies
  • Motivation for pursuing the Master's programme
  • Content of recommendation letter(s)

Selected candidates may be invited for an interview. Students may be required to take complementary courses (up to 15 ECTS) in programming, mathematics, or neuroscience before enrolling in compulsory courses.

  • Organise your thoughts and clarify your objectives
  • Present your plan: how will the program help you achieve your goals?
Results
  • You will be notified of the decision by email
  • You may be accepted without conditions
  • You may be asked to fulfill some conditions before joining, or to follow a pre-master program

The registration fee (CHF 115) covers library access, sports facilities, campus card, and student association contributions. Examination fees are set by each faculty. All banking and transfer costs are borne by the student.
